Creating solutions using human-centered design

Creating people-centered solutions means always asking: who will use this, how will they use this, what do they really need, and why do they need it? Over the last twenty years, I have built a design thinking career by asking the strategic questions fundamental to creating innovative experiences that drive solutions. I believe that collaboration and meaningful relationships lead to success, from inquiry to action.

A Michigan native, I earned my Communication Design degree, with high honors, from Detroit’s College for Creative Studies. With my passion for education, I’ve developed curriculum, taught courses, given lectures, and created several prestigious awards for emerging creative talent. With my cross-cultural leadership in design, I worked for Mercedes-Benz for two decades- most recently as leader of all brand identity, communication design, and art initiatives in the Americas.

With my entrepreneurial vision, I’ve co-founded local programs and international companies. With a recent transition into the public sector, I am now serving the United States Federal Government as one of their first Human-Centered Designers.
